Overview The Radiology Tech completes quality imaging on a variety of patients requiring X-Ray and/or CT studies, with knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question.
Responsibilities
Produces high quality diagnostic images to include a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question
Participates in QA activities to include maintenance of patient logs and RIS forms
Keep Repeat/Retake percentage less than 7% of all images for each month
Understand the process of computed radiology, image processing, archiving, and sending of images to the PACS stations and perform these tasks accurately and free of error
Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections, and the use of aseptic injection techniques
Maintains proactive, effective communication with patient and the provider regarding any findings, patient histories, and test results as appropriate
Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
Know and practice organizational values and adhere to organizational protocols
Follow information security policies and management system, contributing to their effectiveness, and actively reporting on their performance
Function in a manner that supports the facility in meeting or exceeding goals set forth in the quality metrics
Support the Facility Leader and Lead Rad Tech by being a positive team player
Completion of daily checklists
Participate in morning huddles when on shift
Accurate completion of clinical inventory as assigned
Participate in facility-specific education and training
Timely completion of tasks as assigned by the Lead Rad Tech or Facility Leader
Education and Experience Education : Associate
Experience : 1 year
Certifications/Licenses
Active State of Florida License
Active AART Certification
Active BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
Must pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test
Must be credentialed within each facility where shifts are performed
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand and work up to an 8-hour shift
Legible English writing, clear speech, and proficient reading
Bilingual preferred
