Director/Manager of Sales Operations Position Summary We are seeking an
Inside Sales Engineer
to support Virginia Transformer’s data center business by developing accurate quotes, facilitating Account Executive (AE) activities, and coordinating the sales-to-delivery process. Based in
Roanoke, VA , this role will manage
VTQ/CNQ, SAL/ACs , and ensure seamless communication with Contracts, Announce, and PMO teams to deliver customer proposals and handovers efficiently. The Inside Sales Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining customer responsiveness, supporting Account Executives, and ensuring alignment across Sales, Contracts, and Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
Quoting & Proposal Support Develop accurate and timely customer quotes, proposals, and cost estimates. Manage VTQ/CNQ (quote and change request) process to ensure pricing accuracy and approvals. Coordinate with Contracts team on Terms & Conditions alignment in proposals. Sales Process Facilitation Partner with Account Executives to support customer requests and drive proposal activity. Manage
SAL/ACs (Sales Action Logs / Approval Cycles)
to ensure sales cycle conformance. Announce and transition finalized orders into execution phase. Project Handover Coordinate handover of awarded projects to the
Project Management Office (PMO) . Provide PMO with accurate documentation, approved terms, and customer commitments. Track post-handover progress to ensure sales deliverables are carried through to execution. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering, Finance, and Operations to align on costs and deliverables. Support Contracts team with negotiation preparation and risk identification. Provide input to improve quoting tools, templates, and processes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in
inside sales, sales engineering, or commercial support , preferably in electrical equipment, transformers, or data center markets. Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand and communicate product solutions. Proficiency in quoting tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities. Details
