We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with a solar PV design and power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our existing client base. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently under the guidance of senior staff.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the solar PV electrical engineering design work on assigned projects Working with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities Supporting company business development activities as it relates to renewable energy projects Monitoring project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects Solar PV system design including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections Solar PV system energy production modeling Developing solar construction and equipment specifications Engineering calculations and support drawing production Bill of Materials and PV system cost estimation and payback evaluations DC and low to medium voltage power distribution design Supporting projects through complete life cycle Participating in and presenting engineering work at client meetings Occasional travel to client and/or project site Level Specific Responsibilities
Serves as Engineer of Record on all size solar PV projects Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others Participates in development of technical proposals Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule Reviews, checks and signs off work prepared by team Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work Qualifications
Minimum Requirements BA/BS in Electrical Engineering + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Experience must include electrical design of commercial and utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems Preferred Qualifications Eight (8) years of engineering experience preferred PE license preferred Highly Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel desired Experience with other software in the industry such as NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope MV AC Collection System Design Experience Proficient with the NEC, as well as related codes such as IBC and NFPA 855 Strong Familiarity with utility practices, industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.) Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal) Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish Additional Information
