This posting reflects an opening for a CT Technologist I, and we are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role, including CT Technologist II, based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Under the general supervision of the Radiologist, performs CT procedures to acquire digital images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Plans and performs all CT procedures and post-processing using advanced technology based on clinical criteria, anatomy, and established protocols. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients within specific age ranges in their assigned clinical area. Ensures protocols are based on guidelines and that the CT scanner's integration into the program that compiles dose data from each scan notifies the user when a scan exceeds specific preset levels.
Job Duties
Provides technical expertise to operate CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to acquire images for radiologists.
Maintains knowledge to operate different CT systems at multiple locations.
Maintains protocols based on Image Gently Guidelines and CT scanner dose data integration.
Possesses extensive knowledge of clinical histories to match protocols and understands major organ and vascular systems for Thoracic, Abdominal, Pelvic, Neuro, and Musculoskeletal areas.
Obtains CT images according to established protocols, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and shielding when applicable.
Performs CT interventional procedures and advanced CTA imaging, including TAVR, EVAR, and cardiac imaging.
Maintains knowledge of pharmacology to ensure lab results are obtained prior to exams.
Understands physiology and physics to produce quality scans and reduce patient dose.
Interprets technical factors to enhance scan quality and speed.

Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
Experience and Certification: BLS Certification; Certified Radiology Technologist within 12 months (ARRT)
