Under the supervision of the Radiologist, performs CT procedures to acquire digital images for diagnosis and treatment. Plans and executes CT procedures and post-processing using advanced technology based on clinical criteria, anatomy, and established protocols. Ensures protocols adhere to guidelines and monitors dose data to notify when scans exceed preset levels. Operates CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to acquire images for radiologist review. Maintains knowledge of different CT systems across multiple locations. Follows protocols based on Image Gently Guidelines, ensuring dose management and safety. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of clinical histories and major organ systems for accurate protocol matching. Obtains images according to protocols, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, shielding, and technical settings. Performs CT interventional procedures and advanced CTA imaging, including TAVR, EVAR, and cardiac imaging. Maintains pharmacology knowledge to ensure lab results are reviewed prior to exams. Understands physiology and physics to optimize scan quality and minimize patient dose. Adjusts technical factors to enhance image quality and efficiency. Work is performed in a clinical setting. The role involves fulfilling job obligations and adhering to organizational policies. Additional department-specific skills may be required.
