Civil (Design) Engineer (Data Centers)
Join Jacobs as a Civil (Design) Engineer (Data Centers). The position works remotely across the United States with a focus on state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities.
Base pay range $85,000.00/yr – $111,525.00/yr
We’re looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing group. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects including state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, gaining familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Your multi‑discipline team will conceptualize initial civil design for land/site development, prepare grading plans, and perform earthwork and drainage/stormwater calculations.
Key Contributions
Site development, site master planning and site selection
Underground utility routing and site space planning
Hydrology analysis for storm drain systems
Design of gravitational wastewater systems
Final grading plans including cut‑and‑fill analysis and earthwork balancing
Erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans and permit support
Research local AHJ requirements for design and construction in the area
Stormwater analysis and modeling in StormCAD, CivilStorm, etc.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
At least 8 years of engineering experience, including extensive project experience
Strong working knowledge and experience in analyzing and designing all aspects of medium to large scale industrial developments
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams
Quick learner and driven to broaden knowledge base
