Located conveniently in Augusta's downtown medical community, Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home provides continuous professional nursing care to veterans of Georgia who have served in the armed forces during war times. Job Summary
Conducts and coordinates the development of educational programs for all employees to include orientation, disaster preparedness, and residents' rights. Provides direction and supervision of the educational programs presented to all staff. Maintains in-service records & ensures compliance with state of Georgia regulations. Coordinates clinical rotations for students. Responsibilities
EDUCATIONAL MANDATES: Identifies educational needs of the nursing staff by critically and accurately assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational and work experience. ORIENTATION: Coordinates and conducts orientation for all new employees including contract agency staff. RECORD KEEPING: Maintains appropriate in-service records and documentation for Staff Development Coordinator. CLINICAL ROTATION COORDINATION: Coordinates clinical rotations and preceptors experience for nursing students, Physician Assistant students, Nurse Practitioner students, medical students, dental students, nursing assistant students, and student nurse volunteers. Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a valid Georgia Registered Nurse license, with five years directly related experience required. Current Georgia license or compact license to practice as an RN. Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience in the care of geriatric residents in long-term care environment preferred. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of performance Improvement and proactive assessments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases. Facilitate problem solving for complicated admissions. Demonstrates excellent leadership, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Certifications/License
Current Georgia license or compact license to practice as an RN. Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification. Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required) Pay Band: B14 Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position. Conditions of Employment
