AvtechTyee is searching for a

Quality Engineer 2

with regulated industry experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility. Project management skills would be a real plus!

Responsibilities

Lead, participate in, and close of First Article Inspections (FAIs), Non-conformance reports (NCRs), Corrective Actions Reports (CARs), Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs), and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables.

Assist operations team in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels for CSR (corporate social responsibility), environmental, and health and safety goals/KPIs.

Investigate product reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements.

Develop or update company inspection procedures to ensure capture, investigation, and proper documentation.

Monitor risk-management procedures and use problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development teams.

Provide training and support to quality assurance team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.

Actively participate in and lead internal and external audits.

Ongoing self-development and personal growth as an employee.

Other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field

Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Minimum 2 years’ experience in electronics and/or mechanical aerospace industry or other highly regulated industry highly preferred

Demonstrated NADCAP, heat treatment experience would put you ahead of other candidates

Experience meeting FAA and AS9100 compliance requirements highly preferred

Experience as customer-facing Lead preferred

Experience with ITC and JC and the impacts relative to Quality assurance

Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools

Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version-control procedures, and defect management processes

Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, CQE (certified quality engineer), or CQA (certified quality auditor)

Knowledge/Skills Required

Knowledge and experience in a professional business environment

Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment

Strong focus and attention to detail

Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment

Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

Strong focus on customer service

Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization by DOH

Compensation The target wage/salary range for this role may be within $80k - $110k, depending on education and experience. We may look at a broader range for the right candidate.
