The organization seeks a creative and strategic leader to optimize efficiency while accommodating the unique challenges of custom-engineered projects in a multi-shift production environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 20+ employees in the manufacturing of luxury window and door systems.
Oversee engineer-to-order (ETO) and order-to-build (OTB) manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth operations amid product variations.
Maintain on-time delivery and quality targets while optimizing production schedules for high-rate output.
Establish strong safety practices to maintain an injury-free workplace and ensure OSHA compliance.
Plan capacity of equipment, tooling, and personnel to sustain production efficiency.
Analyze shop drawings and work instructions, recommending manufacturability improvements including outsourced processes.
Apply lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods, and Six Sigma tools to enhance workflow and reduce waste.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve labor efficiency where applicable.
Ensure compliance with AAMA and NFRC procedures and certifications.
Maintain facility, tools, and machines in an orderly and optimized state, with preventive maintenance and upgrades as needed.
Use quality metrics and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement in product quality.
Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and enhance process reliability.
Drive cost reduction through improved labor efficiency, material usage, and design for manufacturability.
Monitor labor hours, overtime, and staffing levels; implement improvement plans as needed.
Assess, hire, and develop a skilled production workforce with the right expertise in place.
Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve production challenges and refine processes.
Identify training gaps and work with manufacturing engineering to enhance onboarding and advanced training programs.
Foster a collaborative culture with effective communication between production technicians, engineers, and senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications
Must reside within a commutable distance to Paramount, CA.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related).
Minimum 7 years in production or operations management, preferably in fenestration or custom-engineered manufacturing.
Hands-on experience with CNC machining, milling techniques, and aluminum fabrication.
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
Strong understanding of custom fabrication, production scheduling, and resource planning.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred).
Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans; experience in fenestration production.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven success in leading teams in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills for machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
Effective communication and collaboration across all organizational levels.
Experience in luxury fenestration and door systems production is preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to communicate with diverse production teams.
Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production is desirable.
Adaptability to changing work assignments and a fast-paced environment.
Excellent concentration and attention to detail with high accuracy and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred for team communication.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs unassisted.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for short or extended trips.
