Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant – Inpatient Neurosurgery
role at UW Health Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 8- and 10-hour day shifts rotating with the team. Up to a 1:3 weekend rotation may be required. Responsibilities
Provide care to adult clinical and research neurosurgery patients on the Neuroscience General Care and Progressive Care Units. Collaborate with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide ongoing patient care and management. Perform inpatient rounding and discharge planning for general care neurosurgery patients. Environment and Professional Practice
UW Health’s Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Council supports APP practice and provides expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization. UW Health supports a leadership structure for APPs with advocacy by Department of Advanced Practice leaders. Education
If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing program. If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA program. Licenses and Certifications
Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure. If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses (including prescriptive authority) in state(s) of practice, and active board certification as an NP (e.g., Adult; Adult/Geriatric Acute Care; Adult/Geriatric Primary Care). If Physician Assistant: Active PA license (including prescriptive authority) and active PA board certification. All NP and PA applicants must have an active DEA license or be eligible to apply prior to or upon hire. Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in the state of practice (including Wisconsin and other states as applicable). Equal Opportunity
