VETERINARIAN I - ANIMAL HEALTH & WELFARE - OGLE CO.
The Illinois Department of Agriculture is seeking a Veterinarian I to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting disease investigations, performing sample collection, and assisting in the maintenance of disease program and identification databases. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a valid driver's license. They will also be required to travel overnight and long distances, work in adverse conditions, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check. Essential Functions
Conduct disease investigations and perform sample collection Assist in the maintenance of disease program and identification databases Perform inspections on auction markets, rendering plants, and livestock dealers Conduct initial pullorum typhoid testing on flocks enrolling in the National Poultry Improvement Plan Conduct limited livestock humane care investigations Assist animal and animal product investigators on inspections or investigations CONTACT owners and veterinarians regarding reportable diseases Work with partner agencies and stakeholders to facilitate emergency preparedness Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Conditions of Employment
