Jacobs is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer and Water Resources Group Leader to build teams and lead work planning, design, and construction documents for river and stream restoration, water supply, irrigation, dam breach analysis, and stormwater quality retrofit projects in our Boise, ID office. You will have a chance to be a leader in improving water infrastructure across our state and throughout the Northwest region. As a key member of our local and regional teams, you’ll participate in challenging water resources projects—leading all aspects from concept through detailed design and construction. You will assist with business development, including strategy development, proposal submission, and contract negotiations to grow our business. Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication on technical and project management topics will be essential for developing long-term strategies for market success. You will lead project teams and coordinate between diverse design disciplines to ensure successful project delivery. Join our team and help lay the foundation for growth in these markets. In addition to project leadership, you will be a vital member of the Boise Water Leadership team, working closely with Department and Group Leaders and Client Account Managers. Your leadership skills will be essential in mentoring staff, setting priorities, and supporting career development. Responsibilities may also include identifying project pursuits, preparing proposals, and supporting staff hiring and development. This role offers leadership and support within our Boise, Idaho, and broader Northwest Water team. As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will contribute to infrastructure studies and projects for local agencies, municipalities, and federal entities, including planning and design from concept to final construction documents. Projects may involve hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, feasibility reports, detailed calculations, and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, utilizing models such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, HEC-ResSim, SRH-2D, among others, to meet regulatory requirements. You will exercise judgment in developing feasibility reports and construction documents for complex, multi-disciplinary projects, potentially involving various delivery methods including design-build. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering 10+ years of experience in hydrology, hydraulic analysis, restoration, drainage design, and watershed modeling Ability to work independently, manage design tasks, and mentor junior engineers PE license Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D) Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS 1D/2D, HEC-ResSim, SRH-2D) Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Consulting experience for public agencies Strong relationship-building skills with clients and regulatory agencies Experience in business development and proposal writing People management experience Knowledge of TESC and CSWPPP plans Design experience with Microstation Inroads or Openroads Envision or LEED accreditation Willingness to mentor staff Additional Information: Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Engineering and IT Industries: Business Consulting and Services This job posting is active.
