Role Overview

Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) on PRN Oncology shift at Centra Health. Functions under licensed nurse supervision. Provides patient care according to unit care delivery model. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities

Provide and document patient care under RN or LPN direction and per plan of care; tasks include ADLs and assistance with meals, bathing, ambulation, toileting, and turning. Monitor and record vital signs, intake, output, and report to nursing staff. Answer call lights and communicate patient needs to nursing staff. Assist with safe admission, transfer, discharge processes. Maintain patient rights to comfort, privacy, dignity. Maintain clean, safe environment in unit and patient rooms. Follow policies and procedures in care delivery and interactions. Handle medication delivery via pharmacy or pneumatic tube and transport to storage or qualified employee. Apply unit service excellence best practices with patients, visitors, physicians, colleagues. Use resources cost effectively. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice. Practice Centra safety behaviors consistently. Resolve conflict opportunities appropriately and timely. Engage in professional development via self‑appraisal and educational credit attainment. Qualifications

Certified Nursing Aide by Department of Health Professions of Virginia. AHA BLS CPR Completion. High School Diploma / GED preferred. Minimum 1 year recent acute care experience (required). Valid Virginia Driver’s License (required). Experience in Oncology or Oncology unit (preferred). Seniority Level
