The Tax Department (Amended Returns) is relied upon by all facets of the organization, including sales, new client implementation, client support, and finance. The Tax Filing Service is responsible for Tax Deposits exceeding $40 billion annually and filing 800,000 tax returns. The Tax Specialist II role will concentrate on filing amended returns while providing input to improve the current process from end to end. Responsibilities
Review, balance, and prepare amended tax return packages for customers. File all amended returns, including paper, electronic upload, and manual creation. Identify errors in help ticket requests and consult with the team, internal partners, and clients to ensure accurate amended return filing. Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing throughput, realizing revenue, and enhancing client experience by shortening completion times and providing case-status transparency. Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes and deliverables. Stay up to date on the latest tax regulations and policies. Explain complex taxation issues to internal partners managing client relationships. Mentor and provide ongoing training to team members. Manage escalated issues and facilitate solutions to improve the overall client experience. Requirements
7+ years of experience in Payroll, Accounting or Tax Compliance Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience CPP preferred IRS Enrolled Agent Credentials, Certified Payroll Professional or significant progress toward certification is highly desired Experience with Payroll, Banking, or Tax Software is desirable Benefits and Work Environment
