Boston Public Schools seeks a qualified

ESL and Moderate Disabilities teacher

Responsibilities

Teach English as a Second Language to Multilingual Learners.

Collaborate with content teachers to support language development and classroom instruction.

Coordinate with instructional leadership to ensure comprehensive support for ELL students.

Assist with ACCESS assessment administration.

Organize ELL student transition meetings.

Deliver lessons aligned with WIDA standards and proficiency levels.

Use culturally relevant instructional practices and integrate technology effectively.

Support classroom assessments and professional development activities.

Implement district learning goals for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.

Create and monitor IEP goals, provide accommodations, and support student transitions.

Foster an inclusive environment respecting diverse backgrounds and identities.

Engage with families and participate in professional collaboration and reflection.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Valid Massachusetts ESL and Moderate Disabilities teaching licenses at the appropriate grade levels.

Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching and be highly qualified.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. from the first day of employment.

Proficiency in English; bilingual skills are a plus, especially in languages like Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.

Terms and Additional Info Position is full-time, entry level, under the BTU, Group I. Salary details are available on the district’s website.
