Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/return transactions using the Point-of-Sale system accurately, including handling changes, providing receipts, and maintaining high guest service standards. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in all aspects of their roles, including policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with company and store guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control and loss prevention practices, safety best practices, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates to meet staffing needs; supervise staffing to maintain high guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily and assist in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks at shift changes as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance cash handling and closeout procedures; manage bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files in an organized manner; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager\'s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Open and close procedures adherence. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\'s or bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Work independently and as part of a team; perform tasks promptly. Meet performance expectations including attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Problem-solver who remains composed under pressure and delivers guest-focused solutions. Reliable and trustworthy with good judgment. Able to work alone; stand/move for up to 12 hours; lift up to 30 lbs; basic physical requirements.
