Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; build sales through product knowledge and guest service; ensure a clean, organized store environment; support guest loyalty and repeat business; supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Support the total shopping environment, current sales initiatives, visual and operational elements, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; handle transactions with attention to detail and guest service. Respond to guest inquiries in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain high guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time entries. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising according to guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets with inventory control and loss prevention practices; perform security checks as needed and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Conduct store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; record discrepancies and communicate with management; conduct inventories as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes and packing lists accurately. Maintain guest and associate safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records/files; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager\'s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook and apply Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and as part of a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance and safety. Operate the POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork accurately; follow instructions in various formats. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Ability to work with minimal supervision for extended periods; able to stand and move around the store for up to 12 hours; lift up to 30 lbs; perform physical tasks as needed.
