Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during every transaction, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop. Support the store environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately using POS system, including correct changes, bagging merchandise, providing receipts, and maintaining high guest service standards. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address performance as directed to align with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates and document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control and loss prevention, safety and ethics. Schedule store associates, manage breaks and meals as required, and supervise staffing to deliver top guest service. Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify pay for time worked. Ensure store areas are clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect belongings at closing as appropriate and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts and stock replenishment; move products to ensure representation and organization on the sales floor. Balance daily transactions in POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct merchandise counts and report discrepancies to Store/ District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain awareness of guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days per week availability. Key Job Skills and Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Strong verbal and written communication skills; English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team.
