Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. This role helps develop and promote a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and a shared passion for gaming. You will ensure products are easy to see and buy, build sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintain a clean and organized environment, and grow guest loyalty. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including correct changes, bagging, receipts, and ensuring top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed to align with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to all store associates; log written feedback in the Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates before opening/closing shifts; familiarize associates with policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates to meet guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service and ensure adherence to policies. Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandised layout per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; record issues in the POS system and communicate with management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook; follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities

Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate the POS system and basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Ability to handle pressure, be creative, and solve problems; trustworthy with good judgment. Able to work alone and stand/move for up to 12 hours per day; capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and performing physical tasks. Compensation: $10.75 - $14.75 per hour.
