Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including handling money correctly, bagging merchandise, and providing receipts while maintaining top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments/questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty program). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding/training/compliance training is completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of store policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and maintain optimal staffing for guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify hours worked. Maintain store cleanliness and merchandizing per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform administrative duties as required. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling. Maintain awareness of safety; report injuries promptly per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Open and close procedures adherence. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience (6 months) preferred. Retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience (2 years) preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Good judgment, reliability, and problem-solving abilities; able to work in store environments for extended periods. Ability to operate POS system; basic math and alphabetical skills; complete paperwork properly. Follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Physical ability to stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; climb ladders as needed.
