Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using POS system; ensure correct changes, bagging, receipts, and top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as reservations, trade-ins, and rewards programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and procedures. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance in alignment with company expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethics. Schedule store associates in line with guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain service levels. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify compensation for time worked. Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in achieving sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts and restock merchandise; ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and manage daily deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report issues to the Store Manager/ District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and assist in keeping manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities

Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Genuine and individualized guest assistance during every visit. Strong verbal and written communication; English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetical skills. Complete required paperwork; follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to manage pressure and solve problems creatively while maintaining guest interactions. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work with good judgment. Able to stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; basic physical requirements. Onboarding may include understanding military ranks/insignia for stores on military bases (where applicable). Job descriptions are subject to change based on business needs.
