Description The Stocko Lab focuses on how cholesterol metabolism impacts overall health and influences the development and progression of atherosclerosis and other disease states. Techniques employed include mouse husbandry and genotyping, Cre-lox technology, lineage tracing, RT-PCR and qRT-PCR, immunoblotting, immunostaining, mouse aorta harvest and sectioning, ex vivo cell isolation, and advanced cell culture. Prior experience breeding and maintaining transgenic mice is required, and competency with ex vivo cell culture isolation and mouse aortic processing is strongly preferred.

Qualifications Dr. Alexis "Stocko" Stamatikos, tenured associate professor, has an NIH R01 grant supporting this postdoctoral fellowship. The desired start date is December 1, 2025. Qualified prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Stocko to discuss the position.
