Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4515) at GameStop. Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; handle changes, bagging, receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training associates in company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the Worksystem in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities. Assist in scheduling store associates to meet guidelines; supervise staffing for optimal guest service; ensure high-quality guest experiences. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for all time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and coordinate daily shipping. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing where appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and arrange deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly per company guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and in a team; perform tasks in a timely manner. Meet performance expectations and maintain safety and respectful workplace standards. Operate POS system; possess basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability. Handle pressure, adapt to changing conditions, and be a problem solver. Reliable and trustworthy with good judgment. Able to work alone; stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs when needed. Possess or be willing to acquire a working understanding of military ranks and insignia for stores on military bases. Benefits and Compensation
