Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 6983) Base pay range $15.16/hr - $19.16/hr GameStop is a leading global retailer of video games, electronics, and gaming merchandise. Overview note: Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture by providing outstanding guest service experiences and sharing product knowledge. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; handle changes, provide receipts, and maintain high-level guest service.

Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.

Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards).

Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.

Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed.

Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.

Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.

Assist with scheduling, ensuring breaks and meals are accounted for; manage staffing levels to maintain guest service standards.

Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify hours.

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order.

Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.

Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate and report concerns to the Store Manager.

Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties.

Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and keep products represented and organized on the sales floor.

Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.

Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories, reporting any issues to management.

Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.

Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.

Maintain store records/files neatly; keep manuals up to date.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.

Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.

At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Reliable and trustworthy; exercise good judgment.

Ability to work on-site for extended periods and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, etc.).

Onboarding knowledge related to works on military bases (where applicable).
