This posting is being used to fill various Educational Assistant positions at the specified location. The authorized level of these positions is Educational Assistant III. Applications are being accepted down to the Educational Assistant I in the event of recruiting difficulties. Salary Range

Educational Assistant I, SR-10: $3,019.78 per month Educational Assistant II, SR-12: $3,260.76 per month Educational Assistant III, SR-14: $3,526.98 per month Responsibilities

Within a classroom setting, independently performs a variety of academic and non-academic instructional tasks in accordance with established guidelines and available resources. Provides paraprofessional support services to students with disabilities and assists teachers, both special education and general education, in delivering educational and behavioral interventions. May independently provide academic, social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities in school or community settings to enable them to function as independently as possible. The individual should be flexible to adjust to student needs due to varied and individual requirements. Serves as a paraprofessional assistant in delivering counseling support services and activities for identified students. Acts as a member of the school support team and provides intervening activities prescribed by the school support team to reduce a student\'s specific academic, behavioral or social needs. Education and Experience

Basic Education Requirements : Applicants must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND one of the minimum education requirements below as established under the parameters described by the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001: 48 semester credits from an accredited institution of higher education (baccalaureate level), with 3 credits in math and 3 credits in English from among the 48 credits. An Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree with a minimum of 48 bachelor-level credits. Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment provided by ETS. Experience Requirements : Except for substitutions described below, applicants must have the experience described and in the amounts shown. Note: there was a table of General and Specialized Experience per class level in the original posting. Educational Assistant I: General 0 years; Specialized 0 years. Educational Assistant II: General 1 year; Specialized 0 years. Educational Assistant III: General 1 year; Specialized 1 year. * One year of General or Specialized Experience is defined as a school year (approximately 180 teacher duty days) or about 38 weeks per year. General Experience : Experience involving direct interaction with people and the ability to gather and report information, observe and evaluate situations, and organize materials and records. Familiarity with basic educational programs and activities through involvement in school/community activities is expected. Specialized Experience : Work involving direct contact with students, including student management, familiarity with common academic, social, behavioral, and developmental problems, use of instructional materials and evaluation tasks, and performing instructional or counseling duties under professional supervision. Driver's License : Some positions require a current, valid driver's license. Lift and Carry : Some positions require the ability to lift up to 65 pounds and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance. Substitutions

Certificate of Completion in Child Services or related program may substitute for half a year of General Experience. Coursework leading to an Associate in Science degree in Teacher Aide or Educational Assistant may substitute for half a year of General Experience per 15 credits, depending on practicum requirements. Coursework including practicum may substitute for General and/or Specialized Experience per 15 credits for half a year of experience. Associate in Science degree including practicum may substitute for all General and all Specialized Experience. Bachelor\'s degree coursework may substitute for half a year of General Experience with evidence of basic educational program awareness. Bachelor\'s degree in Education or equivalent may substitute for all General and Specialized Experience. Professional Diploma in Education or equivalent may substitute for all General and Specialized Experience. Quality of Experience : Possession of the required years of experience must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position, not merely the passage of time. Salary Note : The advertised salary is based on full-time employment and may include shortage and school year differentials where applicable. Requirements and Applications

Applicants must meet all requirements as of the date of the application. Education and experience requirements may not be gained concurrently unless specified. Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour weeks; part-time experience is pro-rated. Hours in excess of 40 per week are not credited. Temporary Assignment : Claims of Temporary Assignment (TA) experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements must be verified and attached to the application using one of the options below: A copy of the TA History Report or an equivalent system-generated report. A signed letter from the supervisor with the applicant\'s name, TA title, start and end dates, TA duties, and hours worked per week or total TA hours. Copies of signed SF-10 forms.
