Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 3612) Base pay range: $10.75/hr - $14.75/hr. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviors, and thank guests for shopping.
Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Process guest purchases/returns using POS, ensure accurate transactions and top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments/questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards).
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates.
Observe associate performance and provide feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure onboarding and training completion prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
Schedule and supervise store associates to ensure optimal guest service; manage breaks and staffing levels.
Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked.
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising; ensure equipment is in working order.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages/belongings as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager.
Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties.
Conduct store inventory counts; restock merchandise; ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.
Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate discrepancies to management.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes and packing lists.
Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines.
Maintain store records/files and keep manuals up to date.
Supervise and delegate tasks in the Store Manager’s absence.
Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.
Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills.
Genuine and individualized guest assistance.
Clear verbal/written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team.
Maintain attendance, personal appearance, safety, and respectful workplace standards.
Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
Complete required paperwork accurately; follow written or verbal instructions.
Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week).
Ability to manage pressure, solve problems, and adapt to changes.
Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently; stand/move for extended periods.
Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform related tasks.
Onboarding familiarity with military base stores (where applicable).
