Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately; handle changes, provide receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training store associates in all job responsibilities, including policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into Workday / HR service management system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing a shift; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates, ensure breaks and meals are accounted for, supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify time worked. Ensure store areas are clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; keep fixtures and equipment in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; report discrepancies to the Store Manager/ District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in keeping store records/files organized; help ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities

Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and in a team; perform tasks timely. Meet performance expectations including attendance, safety, and respect in the workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written or verbal instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Manage pressure, remain solution-focused, and maintain guest interactions. Be reliable, trustworthy, and use good judgment. Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
