Key Responsibilities

Developing, executing, and maintaining a comprehensive training plan for Park Ranger staff, in collaboration with local resources, to prioritize staff safety.

Writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Park Ranger staff and Department of Parks & Recreation facilities.

Working closely with County law enforcement and the County Attorney’s Office to update and enforce Chapter 17 of the County municipal code for Park Rules & Regulations.

Building and maintaining strong working relationships with DPR staff, local law enforcement, and Fire & Rescue personnel.

Minimum Requirements High school diploma or G.E.D. with 4 years of experience in educating, directing, and dealing with the Public in a professional manner.

Preferences

5+ years of experience supervising staff at a large agency.

Experience in law enforcement, the military, parks and recreation, customer service or hospitality.

Experience with budget management, scheduling, and cost recovery.

Proven ability to design and facilitate training programs.

Knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS), Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP), and Emergency Operations Planning.

Successful completion of a supervisory training course.

Special Requirements

Supervisory experience overseeing security operations, Incident reporting, CCTV, Access Control.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a county owned vehicle in a safe manner.

Must pass a DPR conducted DMV records check. All hires 18 and older must pass a criminal background check, fingerprinting may be required.

Work Schedule Monday- Friday, 9 am- 5 pm; Hours and days off are subject to changes in order to meet the needs of the department needs.

Starting Salary Range $71,024.65 - $83,558.41 (On-Call pay may be authorized outside of regular hours)
