THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE Experience the possibilities of supporting Ulta Beauty’s Information Technology (IT) department. As a member of the Strategic Portfolio Delivery team in IT, you will influence project investment strategies and decisions through essential financial planning and insights.

You will perform a wide variety of financial activities to ensure effective project financial management across all IT projects. Key recurring areas of service include:

Financial Analysis, Reporting & Forecasting

Month-end close (accruals, invoice support, etc.)

Annual Business Planning

Contracts Administration (SOW / CO Review)

Financial process improvements and standardization

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY Financial Analysis & Forecasting

Lead the preparation, management, and monitoring of the IT project budgets and financial forecasts rollup (both CapEx and OpEx) in partnership with Senior Portfolio Managers, who manage each of their portfolios.

Provide thought leadership to Strategic Portfolio Delivery team members, IT leaders, and FP&A partners to ensure accurate financial planning for capital & operational IT project expenses.

Utilize the SAP system to pull actuals and manage the IT project forecast file on behalf of the team, ensuring data accuracy and maintenance of the file, including creation and maintenance of pivot tables, vlookups, and other table information.

Prepare and effectively communicate financial reports for leadership, inclusive of actuals vs budget, forecast, financial insights, trends, risks, and opportunities.

Identify, plan, and execute continuous improvement efforts to streamline the collection, flow, analysis, and reporting of project financial data.

Accounting Close

Complete month-end accounting accrual activities.

Maintain internal analysis and respond to questions from Accounting and FP&A regarding results.

Evaluate actual results vs. plan, identify variance, work with partners to address, and generate internal reports.

Work with Senior Portfolio Managers to maintain action plans to resolve any issues/escalation/discrepancies with vendor invoicing.

Help ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures.

Annual Planning

Be a key thought leader and executor of the annual business planning process for IT, including creating financial templates, communication plans, financial updates to corporate strategy, FP&A, and IT leaders.

Maintain and drive actions against the overall timeline and ensure deliverables are ready by key dates.

Conduct analysis on submissions (YoY changes and key drivers) and prepare supporting documentation for leadership discussions.

Contract Administration

Optimize IT contracts (SOWs & Change Orders) cost and resource tracking process across IT to improve visibility and adherence to the approved budget.

Work collaboratively with the IT Support Team, Project Management, Procurement, and accounting teams to maintain a centralized view of IT contract commitments for projects.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

5+ years of financial management and analysis, with a focus on IT or technology-related projects

Ability to think strategically and understand the business impact of financial decisions in IT

Strong analytical skills and the ability to present financial data in a concise and actionable manner.

Proven capability in the leadership of a team and developing direct reports’ skill sets

Highly motivated, self-starter with a strong desire to see personal and organizational efforts lead to bottom-line results

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment

Innate inquisitiveness regarding process workings and financial outcomes.

Proficiency in effectively prioritizing and managing multiple assignments with time-sensitive deadlines

Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills

Proven experience in financial planning and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of IT systems, software, hardware, and IT infrastructure cost structures

Strong working knowledge of general accounting concepts, monthly close process, financial reporting, and GAAP concepts.

Knowledge of Fixed Assets is plus

SAP or Ariba knowledge is a plus.

Planview PPM experience is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a hybrid role and requires working from the Bolingbrook office 6 days per month

BENEFITS The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $137,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
