Tax – Business Tax Services – Private Tax HNWI - Manager The opportunity: EY Private Tax is a growing practice within EY, serving privately held companies and their owners and their families, including high-growth private companies from startups to multi-billion-dollar private enterprises. This role involves cross-border and cross-functional teamwork and provides opportunities to develop technical tax knowledge, leadership, and business acumen within a supportive global team.
Your Key Responsibilities
Research tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies Translate complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables Build long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs to provide tailored service Communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients Maintain your reputation by updating and sharing technical knowledge and best practices Coach and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and providing opportunities to excel Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes
Skills And Attributes For Success
To qualify for the role, you must have A bachelor’s degree in a related field, with significant tax, business or financial planning experience A CPA certification or membership in The Bar Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation Experience with flow-through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs) Understanding of automated tax processing systems Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus Commitment to continuing learning Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders Willingness to travel as needed and to work in a balanced hybrid environment
Ideally, you’ll also have
Proven track record in a professional services environment Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to adapt your work style to collaborate with internal and client teams
