Job Summary The Financial Analyst reports to the Bursar and is responsible for reconciliations and reporting, documentation of procedures, financial analysis, compliance, business process improvement, and audit support. The role also includes customer service during peak times and involvement in special projects.

Responsibilities

Execute complex ad hoc queries using Banner, Argos, and PeopleSoft to retrieve and analyze financial and student account data for internal stakeholders.

Prepare, compile, and submit detailed cyclical financial and compliance reports required by the University System of Georgia, State of Georgia, and federal agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Develop, document, and maintain standardized workflows and procedures to streamline financial operations and student account management processes.

Provide comprehensive audit support by gathering, organizing, and submitting requested documentation to state, federal, and internal auditors.

Validate tuition charges and oversee student account functions, including processing Touchnet payments, generating 1098-T tax forms, managing refunds, and delivering responsive customer service.

Collaborate with Student Affairs and United HealthCare to establish semester health insurance rates, manage data extraction/upload to the UHC website, and administer SHIP waiver letters and approval reports.

Reconcile invoices and process payments related to ECORE, GFA, and Study Abroad programs, ensuring accurate financial records and timely transactions.

Serve as the primary liaison to the Student Government Association (SGA), facilitating communication and coordination on student accounts processes.

Schedule and monitor UC4 automated jobs, and test periodic system upgrades to maintain system integrity and minimize disruptions.

Qualifications

Required: 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree

Required: 3+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

Experience with PeopleSoft and Banner

Experience in reconciliation and reporting

Proposed Salary $56,800 - $71,000

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Knowledge of federal, state, and Board of Regents policies

Demonstrated knowledge of business analytics tools and ERP systems

Effective communication

Ability to work with multiple query tools to meet reconciliation requirements
