The Government & Public Sector-Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS-FAAS) team is growing, and as a Senior Manager you\'ll play a key role across Federal GPS sector service lines, developing strategic goals and delivering exceptional client experiences in a field where there are no off-the-shelf solutions. Our Government & Public Sector practice provides a full range of consulting and audit services to help Federal, State, Local and Education clients implement new ideas to achieve mission outcomes, delivering real change and measurable results through diverse, high-performing teams and the firm\'s global capabilities.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong, productive working relationships with audit client personnel and proactively engage with the client throughout the year. Direct field work, inform Supervisors of engagement status, and manage assurance staff performance. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations. Develop people by delegating audit tasks and providing guidance to assurance staff; provide performance feedback, training and reviews. Contribute ideas to assurance teams and respond to other team members\' views; foster an efficient, innovative, team-oriented environment. Use technology to learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Develop an understanding of EY\'s service lines and encourage team members to apply the firm\'s services where appropriate.
Qualifications
A bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance or business, plus 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience with US Federal GAAP. U.S. CPA license in your work state. Excellent project management, communication and negotiation skills; collaborative management style. A proven record of excellence in managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues. Commitment to teamwork and leadership; integrity in a professional environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Willingness to travel as required (approximately 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid work environment) and work at client, EY or contractor sites. Ideally you\'ll have: CGFM and/or CDFM.
