Job Title:
Finance Manager The Finance Manager is a full-time position that plays a key role at the Reno County Historical Society, supporting both the Reno County Museum and Strataca: Kansas Underground Salt Museum. This role is responsible for overseeing budgeting, accounting, payroll, reporting, and general administrative financial functions. The Finance Manager also serves on the Finance Committee, providing regular updates on the organization’s financial status. This position reports jointly to the Director of Strataca and the Operations Manager of the Reno County Museum. Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping in QuickBooks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Coordinate with the external accounting firm on monthly/quarterly reports, annual audits, and tax filings. Prepare and deliver financial reports for the Board of Directors. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking; monitor departmental expenditures and variances. Maintain internal controls, financial policies, deadlines to ensure compliance and accuracy. Attend Board meetings; collaborate with the Board Treasurer and Director to present monthly financial statements and address inquiries. Manage accounts payable/receivable, vendor relationships, and payment schedules; maintain W-9s and provide 1099 year-end support. Coordinate and process payroll Manage employee benefit enrollment and updates as needed. Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or financial management experience Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of internal controls and basic GAAP principles. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management. Experience managing accounts payable/receivable and payroll processes. Compensation & Benefits
