Overview
We are seeking two committed members to join our Finance Committee. Ideal candidates bring financial expertise (CPA or accounting background), experience in nonprofit reporting, and knowledge of budgeting, investments, and financial health. A passion for strengthening nonprofits and serving the community is essential. Responsibilities
Play a vital role in advancing our mission to empower youth to rise above challenges, pursue prosperity, and grow into leaders. Provide financial oversight, accountability, and ensure long-term sustainability of the organization. Approve the annual budget, monitor monthly financial statements, and oversee reporting and IRS filings (Form 990, tax compliance). Help ensure healthy cash reserves and investments for long-term success. Qualifications
Financial expertise (CPA or accounting background) Experience in nonprofit reporting Knowledge of budgeting, investments, and financial health Passion for strengthening nonprofits and serving the community Application

YEP was founded to empower middle and high school students, particularly those facing adversity. Our mission is to provide evidence-based mentoring programs focusing on mental health, academic success, and personal growth. Young Women Who Win
— Weekly mentoring for girls in Title One schools, addressing academic struggles and family challenges. Mentors undergo rigorous training and utilize the "Seeking Safety" mental health program. Teen Leadership PBC
— After-school program equipping students with life skills through workshops on leadership, financial literacy, and conflict resolution. Young Voices & Advocates
— Empowering youth to advocate for policy change on issues they care about through engagement with community leaders. Past Achievements
In 2023, YEP facilitated 100 mentor matches, aiming to reduce absenteeism and improve problem-solving skills. National Mentoring Partnership statistics highlight positive outcomes for mentored youth, including higher rates of college enrollment and leadership positions. Additional Details
