Overview
Personal Financial Counselor; Grissom Army Reserve Base, IN — position at Magellan Health. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations, including one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers, conducting briefings and presentations, and providing referral resources outside the counseling session. Works closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program operates within scope and meets installation needs. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and publish informational financial materials for service members and families. Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and events outlined in DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, secure video teleconference) as authorized. Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues observed at assigned installations. Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. May consider an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 background investigation if required.
