Emergency/Urgent Care Technical Coordinator (ANML HEALTH TCHN 2 VMTH)
Under the general direction of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Supervisor, the Technical Coordinator provides front‑line technical support for ECC and Urgent Care Services. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering client calls regarding urgent pet care needs, facilitating case transfers from referring veterinarians when clinicians are unavailable, and offering paraveterinary technical assistance to veterinarians.
Key Responsibilities
• 60% – ECC and Urgent Care Service Support
• 40% – ECC and Urgent Care Technical Support
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain it within 3 months of hire.
No minimum education requirement.
Experience working in a small animal hospital as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Experience with animal restraint and blood draws.
Experience communicating with clients and referring DVMs.
Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills for effective communication with a diverse client base.
Preferred Qualifications
Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
Experience in a small animal emergency or urgent care setting.
Strong organizational skills.
Salary Competitive hourly pay ranging from $26.20/hr to $34.31/hr. Salary is paid bi‑weekly.
Benefits
Vacation – earn 3 weeks per year.
14 paid holidays annually.
Sick leave – eligible to earn up to 8 hours per month (no maximum).
