Overview
Emergency/Urgent Care Technical Coordinator (ANML HEALTH TCHN 2 VMTH) role at UC Davis Health Informatics. Under general direction of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Supervisor, the majority of this position will involve acting as a technical coordinator for the ECC and Urgent Care Services. Responsibilities include facilitating scheduling of ECC and Urgent Care patients for appointments, answering client phone calls to address whether their pet needs emergent or urgent care, and facilitating transfer of cases from referring veterinarians when clinicians are not available. Provide paraveterinary technical support to the Small Animal ECC and Urgent Care Veterinarians. Responsibilities
Facilitate scheduling of ECC and Urgent Care patients for appointments Answer client phone calls to determine if a pet needs emergent or urgent care Facilitate transfer of cases from referring veterinarians when clinicians are not available Provide paraveterinary technical support to the Small Animal ECC and Urgent Care Veterinarians Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain within 3 months of date of hire No minimum education requirement Experience working in a Small Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant Experience with animal restraint and blood draws Experience communicating with clients and referring DVM Interpersonal communication and customer service skills to interact with individuals of varying ages, cultural backgrounds, perspectives to secure and/or provide information, resolve problems, make referrals, and interact with the general public in a helpful and positive manner Preferred Qualifications
Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license Experience in a small animal emergency or urgent care setting Strong organizational skills Key Responsibilities

Salary: $26.20/hr - $34.31/hr Salary Frequency: Bi-Weekly UC Job Title: ANML HEALTH TCHN 2 VMTH Number of Positions: 1 Appointment Type: Staff: Limited - This position ends 4 months from date of hire with the possibility of extension Percentage of Time: 90% Variable Shift: Sunday-Tuesday 9:00am-10:00pm Location: Davis, CA Union Representation: TX-Technical Professionals Benefits Eligible: Yes This position is 100% on-site Benefits

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is a unit that provides clinical case material in support of teaching programs on a 24-hour basis. The Small Animal Patient Critical Care and Emergency Service provides 24/7 care. The service is open to direct patient care and consultations as needed. The campus maintains a smoke-free environment. This position may require working with sick animals, hazardous materials, infectious diseases, and on short notice or on-call schedules, including holidays and varied shifts.
