Activities Coordinator Miami Jewish Health, a leading provider of healthcare services for aging adults in the Southeast, is seeking an energetic Activities Coordinator to plan and implement engaging recreational activities for participants of our Florida PACE Centers and adult day health centers.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop and schedule routine recreational activities for Center participants.

Develop group activity plans that meet the interests, needs and capabilities of participants.

Work one‑on‑one with assigned participants to implement specific activity plans.

Supervise groups, lead games, exercise programs and other routine activities as assigned.

Schedule, distribute and post the weekly activities schedule.

Participate as an Interdisciplinary Team member and assist with participant care needs such as feeding.

Schedule and supervise volunteers andSenior Companion volunteers, and coordinate with the MJH Volunteer Coordinator.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.

Training in Therapeutic Recreation desirable.

At least one year of experience in a formal activities program; arts, music and crafts experience essential.

Certified Activities Director preferred.

Friendly, outgoing, positive personality; excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Sensitivity to the needs of an aging population.

Computer knowledge preferred; knowledge of documentation desirable.
