GAT is seeking dynamic individuals to join its team of aviation professionals.
Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Job Summary The Ramp Supervisor will lead, direct, and coordinate ground, line, and cabin service personnel to ensure the timely delivery of services for airlines. Responsibilities include safety, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance of ramp operations.
Job Responsibilities
Establish shift assignments for full-time and part-time employees.
Monitor and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all ground support equipment.
Report discrepancies in functional and mechanical aspects of ground support equipment.
Coordinate with carriers to meet cargo and baggage service needs and ensure on-time schedules.
Maintain equipment safety and operational status.
Coordinate activities with other departments through communication with supervisors and managers.
Determine manpower needs and ensure disciplinary procedures are fair and timely.
Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards.
Perform under pressure within fixed time constraints.
Ensure availability of ground equipment for upcoming flights.
Read and interpret aircraft loading instructions, hazardous materials labels, and baggage routing tags.
Comply with all relevant federal, state, municipal, airport, and carrier regulations.
Brief crews before flights on their roles and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
At least 6 months of computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to operate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclocks.
Proven supervisory experience in a business environment.
Operational planning and resource allocation experience.
Knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.
Experience with commercial aviation operations.
High School diploma or GED.
Minimum age of 18 years.
Ability to process information efficiently.
Valid Driver's License.
Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Previous ramp or airline experience preferred.
Successful completion of training and maintenance of required certifications.
Ability to pass FBI fingerprint background check.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods.
Repetitive lifting up to 70 pounds.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions with exposure to loud noises.
Working Hours
Flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations.
