Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist guests with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guest experience. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and building guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including giving receipts and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training associates on company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with service standards. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; log performance feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks, and maintain optimal staffing for guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain clean, organized stores and ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and handle daily shipping. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety and security checks as needed and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and perform required administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize shelves to ensure comprehensive product representation. Balance and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete end-of-day paperwork and banking as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and communicate inventory issues to management; conduct counts and inventories as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations promptly and report injuries per guidelines. Support store records organization and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is not present. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred; at least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills; provide genuine, individualized guest assistance. Strong verbal and written communication; English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks; work independently and in a team. Adherence to attendance, safety, and professional appearance standards; operate POS system and basic math skills. Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work for extended periods standing and walking; lift up to 30 lbs as needed. Onboarding knowledge of policies specific to stores near military bases (where applicable).
