Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with video game needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and generate repeat business by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual/operational elements and current sales initiatives; foster a sales culture by creating solutions for guests and sharing product knowledge. Process guest purchases/returns using POS system accurately; ensure proper handling of transactions and receipts. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., reservations, trade-ins, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, and guidelines. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; align with company expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Coordinate scheduling to meet guidelines; supervise staffing for optimal guest service and adherence to schedules. Approve payroll and manage time-off requests; verify pay for time worked. Maintain clean, organized store areas per guidelines and ensure fixtures and equipment function properly. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets via inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales/profit/shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock, and organize products on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; handle bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to management. Process defectives/ recalls and stock pulls accurately. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor’s in business/marketing/merchandising or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (6+ months); retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred (2+ years). Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Ability to provide genuine, individualized assistance to guests. Strong verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and as part of a team. Reliability, integrity, and good judgment; ability to work alone and stand/move for up to 12 hours; physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Basic math and clerical skills; ability to follow written or diagram instructions; ability to execute financial tasks per policy.
