Overview Starting hourly rate is $18.50 USD per hour. Pay range is $18.50 USD - $27.75 USD per hour.

All About General Merchandise: Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

The role of a General Merchandise Expert can provide you with the following: knowledge of guest service fundamentals; experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement; experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and achieve sales goals.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete your daily tasks.

Engage with guests to help solve their needs when assistance is requested.

Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.

Execute daily tasks assigned by leadership to support goals, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.

If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.

Execute processes such as price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by leadership.

Learn how operations procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.

Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve guest issues and improve their experience.

Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards.

Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.

All other duties based on business needs.

You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak times).

Additional Requirements

Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.

Climb ladders and scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds.

Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; reliable attendance required.

Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties such as Drive-Up or carryout.

Mobility throughout a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
