Overview

This posting supports dual enrollment courses for students enrolled in Howard Community College’s Middle College pathway. The Middle College pathway partners with Howard County Public Schools to give students from marginalized populations an authentic college experience. Faculty must create a supportive and engaging learning environment and use creative pedagogy to help students achieve academic goals. Responsibilities

Teach 1–3 courses each semester, depending on availability. Prepare course materials and update the Canvas course site. Attend required faculty and staff meetings and complete required trainings. Meet with students as needed, grade/assess student work, and deliver quality instruction. Engage in professional development and participate in faculty teams or special projects as invited. Qualifications

Master’s degree in a discipline such as ENG‑121, ALP, PSYCH‑101, CMSY‑110, HIST‑132, COMM‑101, or COMM‑105. Minimum 18‑graduate credit hours in the discipline (master’s degree may be required). 3 years of high school teaching experience. Availability to teach in a face‑to‑face classroom environment and/or hybrid; modality determined by HCPSS academic calendar. Prior college‑level teaching experience and ability to use Canvas for course information, assignments, and grades. Benefits
