About the Role – Sous Chef Reporting to the Food & Beverage Director, you’ll be the working lead in the kitchen, preparing high‑quality meals and guiding cooks to ensure consistency, safety and exceptional presentation. You will play a hands‑on role in daily food production, inspire creativity in the kitchen and help design innovative menus and events that delight our residents and guests.

What You’ll Do

Lead by Example – Prepare, cook and plate meals to the highest standard, setting the tone for food quality and consistency.

Guide the Kitchen Team – Provide daily direction, informal coaching and quality checks to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Get Creative – Assist with menu creation, plan daily specials and bring fresh ideas for themed events and special occasions.

Manage Inventory – Receive, store and rotate food and supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

Champion Safety & Cleanliness – Ensure food handling, health and sanitation standards are always met.

Support the Team – Step in wherever needed to keep service on track and residents happy.

What To Expect

Work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam and commercial cooking equipment.

Frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet resident dining needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training a plus.

2+ years of cooking or food preparation experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.

Food handlers card.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Ability to act as a working lead and coordinate kitchen workflow without formal supervisory duties.
