Responsibilities Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/return transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, proper packaging, receipts, and top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStops guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in all aspects of their responsibilities, including policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document written feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; associates should know all aspects of their jobs and policies. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify compensation. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profitability, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to the Store or District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly per guidelines. Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Open and close procedures must be followed. Qualifications Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associates or bachelors degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field is preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience (preferred) and at least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, or management experience (preferred). Video game knowledge is preferred. Key Job Skills and Abilities Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations and maintain safety and a respectful workplace. Operate POS system and perform basic mathematics and organizational tasks. Complete required paperwork and follow written or verbal instructions. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work alone and stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks.
