Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, and promote guest loyalty. Support the store environment, visual/operational elements, sales initiatives, and guest relationships to drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system and ensure high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as title reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and procedures. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and compliance training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure knowledge of company policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Assist with scheduling, ensure breaks/meals are accounted for, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll and time off, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily; protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention. Support sales, profit, and shrinkage goals; perform administrative and operational duties as required. Perform stock counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; manage cash, bank deposits, and closeout paperwork. Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report any issues to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to Company policies, Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct, and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Ability to provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Good verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and as part of a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate the POS system and perform basic mathematics and organizational tasks. Complete required paperwork accurately and follow instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Ability to work for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs; stand/walk for long periods. Understanding of policies related to military base locations where applicable. Benefits and Compensation
