We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales professional who is looking to grow with Lundbeck. The ideal candidate will be able to be a specialty product expert with an understanding of market complexities to promote our products to stakeholders in the primary care and neurology settings. As an Account Manager, you will lead the promotion of our psychiatry portfolio, executing sales and marketing strategies with clinical knowledge to drive sales performance.
Essential Functions
Business Planning & Account Leadership
- Use digital tools and data-based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy & tactics, allocate resources to enhance sales execution, monitor progress and adjust direction to maximize sales performance.
Selling
- Deliver messages clearly, probe customer needs, handle objections, and close with a commitment to action to drive changes in behavior.
Customer Development
- Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, incorporating total office account management where applicable.
Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise
- Gather and validate key market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize opportunities.
Reimbursement
- Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics and address payer access issues using Lundbeck resources (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial).
Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance
- Apply knowledge of regulatory environment, adhering to Lundbeck policies and FDA regulations regarding promotion of pharmaceutical and medical products.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university
2-5 years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical/biologics/medical device sales or related healthcare sales experience
Ability to score highly on disease and product training exams; certification on product knowledge annually
Self-starter with strong work ethic, tenacity, and outstanding communication skills
Adaptability: able to embrace change and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving: analytical skills to identify solutions and overcome obstacles
Data analysis: strong computer and technical skills for data-driven goal setting
Must live within 40 miles of territory boundaries
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; driving is an essential duty
Ability to meet reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers / facilities
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with or without accommodation
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Recent documented success selling to general practitioners (GPs) and primary care centers
Experience promoting CNS/neuroscience products
Experience working with alliance partners (co-promotions)
Travel
Willingness/ability to travel up to 30% - 40% domestically to meet with customers and internal personnel; attend conferences and meetings across locations in the United States
The salary range is a national range and may vary based on location and qualifications. Salary Pay Range: $108,000 to $125,000 plus eligibility for a sales incentive target of $39,000. Benefits include flexible PTO, health benefits, 401k match, and a company car. Applications accepted on an ongoing basis.
