Responsibilities
Act as a catalyst and facilitator for quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Facilitate QI meetings and provide expertise on national quality programs.
Facilitate adverse event review, corrective action, and preventive quality and patient safety efforts.
Support development and implementation of improved quality reporting measures and information.
Review patient care information and transform facts into actionable information for improvement work.
Create reporting documents, summaries, and presentations for monitoring and identifying improvement opportunities.
Provide education to the organization regarding quality and patient safety topics.
Engage shareholders in delivering high value care and the organization’s Value Management System.
Perform internal audits and prepare reports to assess and improve organizational compliance.
Develop and maintain effective collaborative working relationships across the organization.
Collaborate with leaders, departments, committees, and individuals to support delivery of high value care.
Provide mentoring, support, and assistance to others in the system accountable for value improvement.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Healthcare quality improvement and patient safety topics.
Strong leadership, quality improvement, and team facilitation skills.
Data analysis and data presentation.
Organizational Value Management System (ISO Quality Management System).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Human relation and effective communication skills.
Medical terminology, Microsoft Office (Excel), and healthcare quality metrics.
Current knowledge of State, ISO, NIAHO, CMS standards and national payment programs.
Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-changing work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a health care clinical or business related field or equivalency.
One year clinical or healthcare experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification or completed training in Lean, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, CPHQ, Healthcare Performance Improvement Facilitation, Human Factors, CQI or equivalency.
Two years of leading and/or facilitating quality improvement activities in healthcare.
Advanced degree in related field or equivalency.
Experience with Utah Department of Health and Human Services Licensing requirements. Social services or behavioral health experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands The position is sedentary and may lift up to 10 pounds. It involves sitting most of the time and not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Carrying, lifting, listening, manual dexterity, pulling and/or pushing, reaching, sitting, speaking, standing, stooping and crouching, walking.
