Brief of the Role

AgVend is hiring a Controller to establish and lead our accounting function as our first full-time accounting hire. You will be responsible for our month-end close process, coordinating AP, AR and payroll, producing GAAP financial statements and preparing for and leading our first audit. You will have the opportunity to evaluate and upgrade our systems and controls, and we will look to you to create scalable processes that ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory and tax compliance through a period of rapid growth. This is a highly visible, high-impact role suited for a go-getter who is excited to be the point person for all things accounting at a fast-growing SaaS company. You’ll thrive here if you’re comfortable being responsible for hands-on execution, while simultaneously being excited about the opportunity to define and own our accounting strategy during a period of rapid growth. This position reports to the VP of Finance. AgVend is a distributed-first company headquartered in Austin, TX. We seek the best talent regardless of location within the U.S. or Canada. Your Background

You are an experienced accounting professional with a strong foundation in subscription revenue accounting and SaaS metrics. You’ve played a part in building or revamping accounting functions at scaling technology companies. You are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to handle payments and close the books as you are putting processes in place to ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness. You are comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by the challenge of building new processes that drive efficiency while minimizing bureaucracy. You are a CPA (active license preferred). Ideally, you have both public accounting experience and experience at a high-growth startup. Qualities We Seek

Team-oriented You seek help when needed, are open to constructive feedback, and have never uttered the words, “Well, that isn’t my job” in a sentence. You take pride in doing what’s needed

Insatiably curious You are business-minded and curious about how AgVend supports our partners, solving their unique challenges within the ag industry
