Job Overview
ACP is seeking a dynamic and versatile Controller or Senior Manager to join its New York City team. The Controller/Senior Manager will significantly contribute to ACP’s financial management across the nonprofit, subsidiaries, and philanthropic investment vehicle. Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounting and financial reporting for the 501(c)(3) public charity, including monthly reconciliations and internal management reports. Review vendor invoices, coordinate payment processing, and handle employee expense reports. Assist in the preparation and filing of Form 990 and related schedules. Lead and manage the end‑to‑end audit process, including coordination with external auditors. Prepare board‑ready financial packages and donor reports. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IRS guidelines, and other charitable requirements. Maintain and implement internal controls to safeguard charitable assets. Assist with budget, forecast, and scenario planning models. Oversee fund accounting for ACP’s philanthropic investment vehicle and co‑investment fund, ensuring accurate NAV reporting, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting. Coordinate fund audits and tax filings with external auditors and advisors. Ensure compliance with fund governing documents. Oversee day‑to‑day accounting of subsidiaries outside the U.S. and draft consolidated financial statements across the nonprofit, fund, and subsidiaries. Assist in process enhancement and automation projects. Qualifications
6+ years of full‑time relevant experience with 4+ years audit exposure and strong consolidations background. Prior experience with investment funds strongly preferred; exposure to 501(c)(3) nonprofit work highly favorable. Proactive problem‑solving, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Adaptable, autonomous, and comfortable in dynamic environments. High integrity, meticulous, and process‑oriented. Self‑starter with proactive, humble attitude. Strong communicator, building trust quickly. Mission‑driven and entrepreneurial mindset. Equally effective working autonomously and as part of a team. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA strongly preferred. Location
New York City – required to be in‑office at least 3 days per week (Tues‑Thurs). Total Compensation Range
$135,000 – $155,000 USD annually. Authorization
